Featured Artist #53: Introducing Michael Bird on Fresh Dose.

As the fifty-third feature on the Fresh Dose. blog, we are introducing the ever so talented Michael Bird.

Each week Fresh Dose. will be featuring a new artist from our playlist on our blog to highlight great independent talent.

We asked Michael Bird five questions to help us understand a little more about his song titled Bluebells.

1: Choose 3 words that best describe you as an artist?

Thoughtful, intentional and meticulous

2. What was the story or inspiration for writing this record?

My girlfriend at the time was doing a pretty demanding engineering degree and, growing up in the countryside, I loved going for walks in nature… my favourite time being spring which coincides with exam season so she could never come out with me. The song touches on having different priorities in life and wanting to reconnect with childhood whilst bringing someone new into your life.

3: Shout out section - who’s your favourite independent artist we should listen out for?

I feel like I’d get in trouble for just having to pick one as I’ve connected with so many great artist in my city but Neone the Wonderer is a really exciting artist coming out of Wolves.

4: What’s your other favourite record on this week's top 20? Why?

To be honest, at a quick glance, I’m not familiar with a lot of them but that ‘Peru’ tune has been a good vibe at some weddings I’ve been to this summer so far.

5. Our sister organization @hyper_tribe is all about creating the next generation of artists, what piece of advice would you give to them that helped you the most in your music career?

No matter how many great ideas you have in your head, how much belief you have in yourself or even belief that others say they have in you, others aren’t not going to make it happen for you… still learning that!
