Genre-bending energy
2. What was the story or inspiration for writing this record?
Whiskey Sour came about whilst freezing my nuts off back when government restrictions allowed bars to open outdoors only. I was sipping a Whiskey Sour shivering and suddenly thought what a great song concept it would make!
3: Shout out section - who’s your favourite independent artist we should listen out for?
Winston Surfshirt - Prince mixed in with Tame Impala vibes… very very sick artist
4: What’s your other favourite record on this week's top 20? Why?
‘ONS - V. Carter’ - I love the 909 samples drums throughout, that immediately creates a retro image whenever I hear them in a record. The top line is killer but not trying to hard, it fits perfectly and is just where it needs to be for the track.
