1: Choose 3 words that best describe you as an artist?
Intuitive, shameless and growing.
2. What was the story or inspiration for writing this record?
This song is based on the transition I went through after reading the book 'Why Men Love Bitches'. It's a journey of learning how to love myself without having to find outsourced attention from guys to be happy. This is something I have seen many of my friends struggle with and there is something so freeing about realizing that you are better when that person is not around after a breakup.
3: Shout out section - who’s your favourite independent artist we should listen out for?
I am very big fan of Nilüfer Yanya. Her sound is extremely unique and I always intrigued to hear the new music she puts out. She just released her new single ‘Stablise’ and I can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.
4: What’s your other favourite record on this week's top 20? Why?
How Small Of You - shiv. Her voice is so delicate when she is touching on subjects that are confronting when you are in love with a person. You can feel every ounce of the emotion of the lyrics in her vocals and as the song progressed the emotion builds. Great discovery from this playlist!
