We asked Hoost three questions to help us understand a little more about his process behind LOST EP.
1: Choose 3 words that best describe you as an artist?
Versatile, Detailed, Fun
2. What was your inspiration for writing this record?
2017, Huntar was in a low point about whether he wanted to continue making music anymore, I had just got dropped from my label, we were both feeling dejected about the industry in general. We ended up just sitting & talking about it for hours before sitting at the piano and writing the whole song like that. Writing this one really helped reignite our confidence in ourselves more than anything, which inspired the hopeful mood of the production and more triumphant finish with the big drums.
3: Shout out section - who’s your favourite independent artist we should listen out for?
Lunakai is making some amazing electronic music. He is an incredible producer, visual artist and all round unique & creative genius. His tag is @itslunakai.
4: What’s your other favourite record on this weeks Fresh Dose. Top 20?
If I can do another shout-out, Lauren Aquilina is my favourite songwriter and pop artist right now. She is truly one of the greatest musicians in the UK that our generation will see in my opinion and I love All Cried Out ft Scotty Stacks and Lady Leshurr.
